In honor of Jim Thome’s trade, here’s a good one from last week, after Thome’s walk-off homerun. To Papelbon
"I WANT MY CHECK! YEAH!"
I don’t care if he’s going to a division rival, I’ll always respect and root for him.
Man, it’s been tough to watch the Bruins lately. But hey, March is right around the corner.
Remember when Boston Bruins fans and media laughed and mocked those from Montreal who protested over their new coach not being able to speak French? It seemed like such a silly notion, to get so worked up over something that would really have no hindrance or help to the Montreal Canadiens’ on-ice performance.
And then Tim Thomas didn’t want to meet the President. A president who is a Democrat. Tim Thomas plays for a state that traditionally always goes the way of the Democrat. And now everyone is upset. Everyone’s saying that it is a distraction to the team. And now the media won’t shut up about it. The best part? The media is acting like there is nothing wrong with what they’re doing, which is essentially trying to shove this story down everyone’s throats.
I get all the reasons why it’s a bad thing, how it’s disrespecting the office. But honestly? Tim Thomas is not the first athlete to snub a presidential visit, and won’t be the last. The only reason for the overreaction is because of Tim Thomas’ released statement, and the only reason for that statement was because people flipped the FUCK out when they found out Tim Thomas was a conservative. And of course now, it comes out Tim Thomas has always put himself first, being a selfish prick. That selfish prick just led the Bruins to a Stanley Cup, posting two shutouts in decisive game 7’s. But now the media wants him gone.
Oh darn. Lesson learned - Never snub the Liberal Messiah.

Personally feel the Tim Thomas situation is completely overblown, and can’t wait for it to go away within a few weeks.
